Kim Dodd

Director

​I started working here in 2012 as the teacher in the four-year-old classroom. In 2014 I became the director. I am very excited to be back as the director of the preschool. I received my degree in Early Childhood Education from Elmhurst College. I have taught preschool, kindergarten, first grade and I have substitute taught through eighth grade. I love working with young children. I always enjoy seeing a child’s face light up when they have learned or mastered a skill for the first time. We are truly blessed to have the opportunity to enrich the lives of your children. I hope that everyone has a wonderful year.

Angel Wings (2 year class)

I started working at the preschool in 2008 and I have worked in the two, three and four-year-old classrooms. The best compliment I received was, being named the silliest, funniest teacher. My favorite things to do are: jump in puddles on rainy days, watch sunsets on the beach, and watching baseball. I love to read silly books and I really enjoy when my friends find me outside of school and stop to talk.

Sonshine Friends (3 year class) & Enrichment Program

​I started working at the preschool in December 2016 and started working with young children in 1999. I have an associate degree in art plus many extra courses in early childhood. I have two wonderful sons, which I am very proud of. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my sons play sports, bike riding, taking walks and spending time outdoors.

Friendship Circle (4 year class) & Enrichment Program

I began working with children and families out of college. I was a social worker for over 9 years and taught preschool at Round Lake Park district before coming to this school in 2021. I have taught all ages and have my substitute license through the State of IL. 
 
I currently teach all four days which includes the Enrichment and Pre-k. I love watching the children grow and getting to know the families over the years.

Friendship Circle (4 year class)

I began working at the UMCA Preschool in 2019 after being a substitute teacher. Two of my children went through the program and absolutely loved it! I enjoy working with children of all ages. I have taught in the 2's, 3's, 4's, and the Enrichment Program and I am now in the 4's!

I love watching all of the children grow their skills and gain confidence. There is nothing better than having my students run up to me in the morning with smiles and hugs!

Ms. Julia

Teacher's Aide

I started working at the preschool as a floater teacher's aide in 2023. 
 
I really like helping people, but didn't know how much I enjoy working with children until I started working at the preschool. I love seeing the kids grow and the joy on their faces when they hang out with one another. I love how focused and passionate they can get when I'm teaching them. Your children have inspired me to go into early childhood education!
 
When I'm not at the preschool, I enjoy being in nature. I also enjoy making art, whether it's drawing, painting, or using mixed media.
