United Methodist Women, now United Women in Faith, is a community of women whose purpose is to know God, develop a creative and supportive fellowship, and expand the concept of mission through the global ministries of the church. They meet at noon on the first Wednesday of the month. UWF is open to all women of the church.
The Telecare ministry is a group that calls homebound persons for a well check and a friendly conversation. These calls are placed each week day morning. Money to pay the phone bill is contributed by several community organizations.
The Mission Committee
The Mission Committee is responsible for the mission outreach of our Antioch church. They determine which local, national, and international mission projects and programs we will support.
As a United Methodist Church in the Northern Illinois Conference, the UMC of Antioch has committed to paying 100% of its denominational financial obligations to mission and ministry in this area. In addition, members have agreed to support designated ministries in the world, nation, Conference, and community. Each color of the rainbow represents a particular area of ministry. Rainbow Covenant Churches have financially supported all the colored bands of the rainbow. In addition to the Rainbow Covenant giving, UMCA has supported Open Arms Mission, PADS, the Backpack Program, Veterans programs, and many others with our finances, food, clothing, and time.
