Greetings from Pastor Char

One of the things that my husband, Glenn, and I experienced when we first stepped through one of the many doors of the United Methodist Church of Antioch was the warm greeting we received from all the folks gathered for worship on Sunday morning. In the few short months that I have been the pastor of this church, I’ve seen that the warmth and caring doesn’t stop at Sunday morning, but continues throughout the week. Whether it’s the folks staffing the office, people involved in a variety of mission projects, the Bible Study classes, or the teachers in the Parents Day Out program, everyone is friendly and welcoming. We’re many kinds of people, with many kinds of gifts and talents, but we are one in our intention to experience God’s forgiveness, acceptance, and love in Christ and then to share it with all the folks we meet.

You’re invited to check us out – Sunday, or any other day. Our worship services tend to be traditional, yet informal. Come as you feel comfortable.

Hope to meet you soon!

MONDAY OFFICE HOURS: Diane will not be in the office on Mondays from June through August. Please leave a message in the mail slot in door, email or phone message.

TRUSTEES UPDATE: Several summer projects were approved by Church Council. The first is repairing the roof over the Education Wing. The Finance committee determined that we have the necessary funds available. This project is slated to start in the next few weeks. The second is in the fund raising stage - a hand rail for the sidewalk that comes into Wesley Hall. Money raised from the Rummage tables in Wesley Hall have been earmarked for this project. If you would like to make a donation to this project that would be great (please mark envelope “railings”). This project will not be started until the funds are raised. The total needed is $4250. Thanks for your support in helping to maintain our church building.

CHURCH NURSERY HELPERS: Adult and youth supervision is needed in the Church Nursery at the 10 a.m./10:30 a.m. service. This commitment would amount to once every 3 months. Please contact Heather Menzer if you would like to join this important ministry- heather.a.menzer@gmail.com 847-385-3721
